Illinois Jr Celtics Tackle Football
The Illinois JR Celtics are looking forward to the fall 2024 season. Not sure what results we will have, but the one thing that is certain is that our student athletes will be disciplined, well-conditioned, smart, coached well, and will have become better football players and young men once the season is complete. Everything else is a bonus.
Pop Warner football has been around since the inception of the league in 1929 by founder Joseph J. Tomlin as a four-team conference in Northeast Philadelphia. Since then, participation has steadily increased to today’s record numbers. Over 240,000 youths participated in Pop Warner-sanctioned football programs in 2004, and those numbers are continuing to grow.
Did you know that Pop Warner football is safer than soccer?
Per US Consumer Product Safety Commission (NEISS), Pop Warner footfall has 12% fewer injuries per capita among 5-14 year olds than organized soccer in the same age range!
Football Includes:
Helmets, shoulder pads, game & practice jerseys, game pants and mouth guard – The game pants and game jerseys are yours to keep at the end of the season. Helmets and shoulder pads are to be returned at the end of the season.
Parents/Guardians are responsible to purchase Football Cleats, Girdle, mouthpiece and knee pads.
